IDEX Roll Compactor Machine
Removing Audit Risks and Data Loss from a Legacy CCS Reporting System
The Challenge:
The CCS series machine was initially supplied and commissioned by some other partner of Siemens. However, several design and integration flaws were present from the initial commissioning phase. Over time, minor system modifications and expansions were carried out without proper validation. This has resulted in frequent data loss in reports and inconsistent data logging and auditing, especially during batch operations. A major concern for the customer is the risk of losing production data and machine configuration parameters and user administration settings, which are essential for maintaining process accuracy, traceability, and product quality. Due to repeated failures and unreliable support from the existing partner, the customer has lost confidence in the current service provider. They are now seeking a technically strong and dependable partner who can analyze and rectify the legacy issues, stabilize the CCS machine operation, and upgrade the system with modern software to ensure long-term, interruption-free machine performance.
The solution:
Velox Automation was engaged by the customer to address long-standing issues in the CCS system. Velox immediately focused on stabilizing the reporting system. The reporting architecture was redesigned, faulty scripts were corrected, and inconsistent data logging and audit trail issues were fully resolved. This ensured zero data loss and restored the reliability of the batch and production records, which are essential for compliance and traceability. With confidence restored, the customer requested the development of a new software package for a new CCS-One machine. Velox delivered a modernized and streamlined software UI, removing outdated, redundant, and incorrect graphical elements. The new interface improves operator experience, enhances process visibility, and ensures full authenticity and reliability of the displayed information. In parallel, Velox implemented a built-in user administration system within the software itself. User roles, access levels, and permissions were fully customizable, enabling the pharma end user to manage user privileges independently without external engineering support. A complete audit mechanism was also developed to record user actions, permission changes, and configuration updates, ensuring full regulatory compliance and system transparency. Through this comprehensive approach, Velox has transformed the CCS system into a stable, modern, and fully compliant solution, delivering long-term operational reliability and empowering the customer with greater control, flexibility, and confidence in their manufacturing process.
